The first half will feature Bob Chilcott's wonderful Christmas Oratorio.
Premiered at the Three Choirs Festival in 2019, it breathes fresh life into the timeless Christmas story. Words from St Luke and St Matthew are intertwined with 16th-19th-century poetry to create a compelling retelling of the Christmas story

After the interval, we'll present a selection of beloved carols ranging from the sublime “O Magnum Mysterium” by Poulenc to the joyful “Gloucestershire Wassail”, with audience participation in traditional favourites like "Once in Royal David's City" and "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." We are again including "The Bee Carol" by John Merrick, our former rehearsal accompanist, which recently won the BBC carol competition.

This festive programme promises something for everyone, blending classical choral works with well-loved Christmas songs that will fill your heart with seasonal joy.
